Tournament Rules
Certification: This tournament is certified through the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) and rules not covered here are governed by the USBC rules and regulations.
1. Eligibility: All member (excluding Youth) of the Rowan/Mooresville USBC Association and USBC members from other associations who pay the association fee for Rowan/Mooresville USBC Association prior to bowling are eligible to enter.

Bowlers from other associations who need to pay the Rowan/Mooresville Association fee of $6 must send it with tournament entry.
2. Tournament Event: Tournament team events shall consist of a four-person team event and a singles event and a two-person doubles event.

If entering the singles event, the doubles event must also be entered.
3. Entering Average: Bowlers entering average will be determined as follows:

a. The bowlers USBC composite average for the 2024-2025 season.

b. A bowler without a 2024-2025 composite average will use their 2023-2024 composite average

c. A bowler without a composite average for the 2024-2025 or the 2023-2024 season will use their highest leave average of 21 games or more as of November 1, 2025.

d. A bowler without any of the above entering average requirements will bowl with a scratch score of 230 without handicap.

It is each bowler's responsibility to determine that the submitted average is correct. Failure to use the correct average may result in disqualification.

4. Tournament Schedule: Entry deadlines are specified on the entry forms.

No entries will be allowed the day of the tournament.
5. Reporting Prior Prize Winnings: USBC rule 319d-2 applies. Bowlers who have qualified for a prize of $600 or more in any event in a tournament in the previous twelve (12) months, must report actual score, position, and amount won. Failure to comply with these provisions is cause for forfeiture of entry fees and prize winnings.

7. Prize Money: All prize money is returned 100% in the event collected. At least one prize for each six entries. All prize money will be paid by individual checks and mailed to the team captains within 30 days after the close of the tournament unless a formal protest is filed with the R/M USBC. All checks must be cashed within 90 days from the date of the check.
8. Bowler Handicap: Handicap is 90% of the difference of the bowlers entering average and 230.
9. Bowler Tardiness: Any bowler or team arriving after the third (3rd) frame of the first (1st) game in any series is allowed to bowl and the score(s) will count beginning in the frame being bowled.

A score of zero (0) will be given for frames missed.
10. Entry Fees: All fees must accompany an entry. Entry fee is $40 per bowler. All checks or money orders should be made payable to the "Rowan/Mooresville USBC". Any check returned will be subject to a $35 fee and paid before prize funds are distributed.
11. When bowlers are scheduled alone on a pair of lanes, they must bowl as though they were contested. The bowlers complete on frame on one lane before the lead-off bowler starts the next frame on the adjoining lane.
12. Any protest affecting eligibility or general playing rules must be confirmed in writing to the Tournament Director before the prize payments are made. Errors in scoring must be reported reported to the Tournament Director immediately.
13. Tournament Director and the Board of Directors of the Rowan/Mooresville USBC Association will address any questions not covered by these rules or USBC tournament rules. Tournament Director and the Board of Directors have the power to hear and action all protests concerning the tournament. Their decision is final unless an appeal is made in accordance with USBC rule #329. Any rule not mentioned will be governed by USBC Rules and Regulations.
15. Entries can be mailed to Cindy Easterday, 585 Surry Trace Circle NW, Concord, NC 28027 or delivered in person to a member of the board.
16. Dress Code: Bowlers are expected to wear suitable attire. Any issue will be resolved by the Tournament Director.
17. Team captains are responsible for all information on this entry form.
